Since our founding in 2023, MDCND has racked up real wins — in North Dallas, in Collin County, and at the Texas Democratic Party State Convention.

2024

January 10, 2024 — Launched our first official Muslim Democratic voter registration campaign in partnership with local organizations.
March 23, 2024 — Passed the MDCND Ceasefire Resolution at the Collin County Democratic Party Convention.
May 28, 2024 — Participated in the Texas Democratic Party Platform Committee process and contributed to foreign policy platform discussions.
June 8, 2024 — At the Texas Democratic Party State Convention, helped support the passage of historic platform and resolution items, including recognition of Palestinian statehood, conditioning military aid to Israel, support for refugee rights, and rebuilding Gaza.
Hosted candidate forums and community engagement events connecting Muslim Texans with local and state leaders.
Co-hosted an Iftar dinner with MDC Texas for elected officials, candidates, community leaders, and Democratic activists.

Hosted Juneteenth and Hispanic Heritage Month events to build bridges across communities.
In partnership with a local nonprofit, presented a Community Empowerment Award to a first-generation college student.
Continued our annual Iftar dinner and candidate forum traditions.
Worked with MDC Texas and coalition partners to advance county and state convention resolutions and platform recommendations focused on human rights, civil rights, voting rights, immigration reform, criminal justice reform, healthcare access, education, and economic justice.

June 2026 — MDC Texas and coalition partners successfully advocated for the adoption of numerous Texas Democratic Party resolutions and platform recommendations, including measures related to Palestine, human rights, voting rights, criminal justice reform, immigration, healthcare, education, and economic justice.
Co-hosted our third annual Iftar dinner with MDC Texas.
