Founded July 15, 2023, the Muslim Democratic Caucus – North Dallas (MDCND) is a local chapter of the Muslim Democratic Caucus of Texas. We build political power, civic engagement, and community leadership for Muslim Texans in North Dallas.
A women-led beginning
Our first administration was entirely women-led, with all four founding officers being young women committed to community service and political engagement. That spirit — young, community-rooted, and unafraid to organize — still drives everything we do.
What we do
- Register voters and grow Muslim civic participation in North Texas
- Connect Muslim Texans with local and state leaders through candidate forums and community events
- Advance resolutions and platform recommendations at county and state Democratic conventions
- Build bridges across communities through shared celebrations and coalition work
Built to last
MDCND runs on a sustainability-first leadership model. Officers contribute a modest baseline of time during off-season months, with increased but temporary commitments during election cycles or major events. Responsibilities are shared to avoid burnout — no one is expected to keep campaign-level hours year-round.
